Seek and ye shall find

More proof!
Vincent's life ended with a self inflicted shot
and Surrealism started with the furore over a gunshot
at a surrealist play

I think I will delve further into this connection

I need a holiday

Sister out-law is off to Amsterdam for her birthday
with a promise to send me a postcard from the Van Gogh museum
Anything with stars
well I was a little more specific than that

Just looked up Van Gogh and surrealism
to see if I can slip him into my project somehow
Wikianswers tells me
"he has nothing at all in common with the surrealists,
who painted dreams"
Really?
But he painted the night
the doorway to our dreams
the gatekeeper for the surrealists

No, just checked my list
he's not on it
Sorry! I cannot do "Time and Space" without Vincent.
I will not
and I'll turn his deaf ear to anybody
who tries to tell me differently

The Twig Dancer

Maybe I should tie
some little bits of plastic bag around her
for a more authentic look

Spring and the bullfinch is singing

This is a Fred Williams inspired cat Landscape
and some gentle souls I met on my travels today
the Bullfinch in the tree was fabulous
plus I collected a twig curled to look like a dancer
made me think of Rosalie Gascoigne
and her found and collected and chosen objects
picking up parts of the landscape
and imbuing them with meaning
first time I've been to Dad's grave since the funeral
tidied up some rubbish
collected my twig
wait till you see it
it is beautiful

Give or take a day

Been metaphorically sawing one of my ears off today
doused it in gin
for health and safety purposes
been a beautiful sunny day
the songbirds are going crazy
seagulls
and Ducks! - heading for the lake in the park
signs of new life
green shoots
here we go
the official first day of spring

Here or there

Sometimes... when I wake up
I am not sure whether I am in Australia
or England
lost in the Dreamtime
usually Sid and Su accompany me
in my dreams
but recently
there have been other cats
then I wake up
and I am being gently headbutted
by Suki
to feed them or do some other menial litter tray duty
it doesn't take much to keep them happy

I'm Happy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHxkPVKEjtE

the reason why I had to escape the mad crowds
in Liverpool on Saturday afternoon

as I said Liverpool had just beat Manchester United
4:1 Away.
my muse admits to knowing this guy
Give me strength...

Memories

Remnants and traces
lost pieces
and places
tracks and signs
things left behind
a mind that erases
over time...

Blue and Grey

Energy levels back up to about 56%
approximately
no pix
well only fuzzy ones
very late now..

as my eyesight starts fading
I am feeling more and more in tune
with Van Gogh
just the fuzzy light bit
not the self harming madness

and err...
nowhere near the talent
obviously

Down Town

Had to drag myself into town (Liverpool) today
My sister outlaw and my niece are here for a visitation
I wasn't allowed to take pix in certain areas of the shop
some black and white photo's in the alcoves
things were a bit wild in town
as Liverpool had just beaten Manchester United 4:1 away!
Everton were playing at home too
I headed away from the crowds
back down to the tunnel under the Mersey
I prefer less excitement in my life
Nowadays

Pinks and greys

Stitching at college - watching a phone video of Victoria learning to spin.
Energy levels at about 12.5% today.
Spinning classes in Wallasey (apparently)
... tired now
and so to bed

The Grey Lady

Suki trying to convince me
I have forgotten to feed her
she wants the rich stuff that upsets her tummy
pix of a 16 century painted chest
love the colour
pity I couldn't get more detail

Everything happens for a reason

Back to photo this beautiful old house
now part of a school
battery back in the camera
my childhood playground
unchanged since then
a path well trodden
many many times before
just in time to catch a wedding
at the Catholic church
Don't you just love the ears on the horse on the right

Memo to self

One important thing to remember
when you are taking photographs
is to put the re-chargeable battery back in
before you go out
otherwise
you can compose a most beautiful shot
of the most wonderful architecture
and then...
nothing
nil
niet
zero
too tired to rifle through the back catalogue
too lazy really
done some stitching though at college today
tee hee
Finally!!

for a short while
best views whilst I was driving
all panorama
more soul food

Don't pay the Ferryman

thought I'd ease myself into Monday with a light walk to the river
A 5 minute walk takes me down to Woodside
Just in time to meet Snowdrop
and the crew
spending their days sailing on the river
in all weathers
apparently 4 (or 6? ) people have chucked themselves in the water in the past 6 months
they usually get fished out pretty quick
the landing stage is floating due to the very high tides in the river
for about 700 years the ferries have been ferrying back and forth
the seagulls follow them and land on them too
I think they are the real Liver Birds
