Ethereal stuff
this is the result of my weekend labours
I have a bound and wrapped silk bundle
filled with stones and onion skins (red)
then wrapped with Eucalyptus leaves on the outside
waiting for a dunking in hot water later today
the strange plastic bag wrapped parcel
is a white linen dress drizzled wih more red onion skins
plus some brown ones too
then wrapped around a large rusty iron bar
oh yes I presoaked it in milk the night before
won't be unwrapping this for a couple of months

Parting is such Sweet Sorrow
Separation anxiety has gone into overdrive
Bags are packed - almost
The crows are still calling me
been snipping greenery from
the garden
A Rose leaf here
a bit of Fern
a branch from the Bay
Gooseberry leaves
Ivy from the lampost
Hydrangea leaves
a Dock leaf
a couple of sprays of flowers
Dearly loved plants
from a dearly loved garden
will post the results of my endeavours
on my return on Sunday

Through the Looking Glass
Monday, 20 April 2009
In my Liverpool home
it travels steeply up the rocky sandstone slope
and the path continues up and over
with the Priory on the left
meandering into Town
down Market Street
the site of the old Market
on the left again
which burned down in 1974
now a council building
not rebuilt there
where it must have existed for centuries
moved further into Town
leaving the businesses around The Square
to fend for themselves
Market Street was full of old pubs
slowly all closing down
no respect for the old ways
no connection to the land

Writers crack?
Well I've heard of writer's block
and writer's cramp
but writers crack?
due to blogging overdose
Is that me?

Ffffwhhwoo !!
That is the closest to a sigh I can do
at the mo
the wind is blowing wildly
outside
very wildly
twas rainy sunny and mild today
the change of season
virus, chest infection
and tiredness
hah!
where'ere
the wind blows
there blow I
in a cowslips bell I lie...

Football crazy
well...
a minute's silence tomorrow
for the victims
of the Hillsborough disaster
I was in Australia at the time
so the full impact
didn't quite hit home

I guess it's personal
Been having a good old read up
on some aboriginal art today
must say
whilst in WA
spent quite a bit if time in the Art Gallery
Lin Onus's work "Maralinga"
moved me more than any other piece
even some of the visiting "Old Masters"
