Whilst sheelaghs washed their frocks by night

Getting my party attire ready for this evening
already done my stretches for the dancing which will be taking place later
not fully recovered from my cold so I will wrap up warm
More pix next year

Have a song instead...

AULD LANG SYNE - attributed to Burns.

Should old acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind ?Should old acquaintance be forgot, and old times since ?
CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup !And surely I’ll buy mine !And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,for auld lang syne.
CHORUS
We two have run about the slopes, and picked the daisies fine ;But we’ve wandered many a weary foot, since auld lang syne.
CHORUS
We two have paddled in the stream, from morning sun till dine† ;But seas between us broad have roared since auld lang syne.
CHORUS
And there’s a hand my trusty friend !And give us a hand o’ thine !And we’ll take a right good-will draught, for auld lang syne.
CHORUS

A time to cast away stones

still hacking, coughing and spluttering
hee hee
plus a visit to Dracula's castle today
bit of an MOT
for me
having a metamorphosis
starting to paint my Butterfly wings
choosing my colours
adding some moon dust
listening to the rhythms of the Earth's heartbeat

The value of found objects

Arctic conditions outside
waiting for my muse
been thinking
at college we are meant to study other artists
emphasis on the great masters
studying a few contemporary ones recently
for inspiration
putting a few finishing touches to the hat
found a little "something" in 12 KRS
to finish it off
so to speak

Saturday, 27 December 2008

the immoveable obect is starting to shift

Tidying and surfing today

Still Alive and kicking

It's all self inflicted
I will call it the lost weekend
Thank goodness it is only once a year
the post office party trawl around the pubs in Liverpool
with ensuing memory loss that I cannot put down to age
Black Friday they call it -
that puts excessive pressure on our national health system
still fragile and shaky on Saturday
quietly relaxing sofa Sunday
The party season has begun
Did do some dancing...
no more details
tee hee
been sedating the cats all weekend with the central heating
though they still appear for snax and cuddles
every now and again
Sid is here now
and then he is gone
back to bed
oh no back again
he's a cuddle addict
he could never go to another owner as it would be cruel
nobody would ever cuddle them as much as me
I love the trust we have established
at one time I thought I couldn't even look after myself properly
let alone the cats
now he is upside down curled up in a ball and purring
he has never been teased and keeps his claws in
usually - unless he gets very excited over a game
bit like me really
well on that note it must be time for bed
doncha think...

googly eyed butterfly and a dragonfly

Beneath my feet

Smart little seabirds
unable to take the best photo
as I was still driving
two ornate street lamps
one on either side of the road
Both... with a seagull on !
as I said before

cheeky little beggars

no further progress with the hat
due to a lack of gin
(don't ask)

More Seagulls

cheeky little beggars
one or two distant views
and then a low flying squadron manoeuvre (sp)
just at the entrance
difficult to whip the old camera out
when there are colleagues around

I'll get them next time

Dreaming of Spring

Once you start noticing them
they start noticing you
(hey ! you looking at me)
the seagulls escorted me up the road to work today
a light welcoming chatter
and some graceful low flying antics
one had what looked like a biscuit (?) in it's mouth
male , female , who knows?
with my head at a 180 degree angle
who cares?
oh yes , the picture
just cos I like it...

The impossible dream

tears in her eyes
and she wants to come home with me

Saturday, 29 November 2008

Cor Cor Cor busier

Aw, that'll be how you spell it then!
Made it to the cathedral crypt - soo glad I went
Real arty farty day all in all
Sadly not allowed to take photographs but if you go to "architect .com " there are some photos of the space there
(going to try to do a link now...)
http://www.architecture.com/WhatsOn/Exhibitions/lecorbusier/exhibition.aspx
there now that wasn't too painful was it?
and this straight to the Art
http://www.architecture.com/WhatsOn/Exhibitions/lecorbusier/Gallery/Exhibition5.aspx

also went to see Sue and Bob's "work in progress" for the Eight days a week - Livepool and Koln exchange
High Tide Low Tide
The Life of Dan - (incorporating Helen's inks!)
this was at the Bluecoat Chambers
http://www.bluecoatdisplaycentre.com/aboutus.asp
where...
there was a Nordic (Ta Da!) exhibition on in one of the galleries.
(bought two books "Nordic felted knits" by Gerd Fjellanger - and a jewellery making book.)
I have mentally blotted out any unsavoury moments of the day and am now about to refuel before attempting to limp out dancing (in my mind), together with general carousing and mischief making.

My little furry friends (the cats...) are sleeping peacefully

Greetings from the land of the long white paw

Went to my local fabric shop today

mustn't forget the ribbons I took back out of the skip yesterday (complete with a 1970's plastic fantastic container)
and all my bits from my summer courses too - thanks to Helen
oh yes I need my Viking Book to do a silk screen of the urnes style art - maybe
best get that now as I am not too good in the mornings
ahh inspiraion - golden booty (coins etc) for decoration
too much thinking not enough doing
ciao x

photos from the cellar
mostly from the room referrred to as the "Prison" in our chidhood
toys not us I must say
as I've said before 40 odd years of memories...

Despite ( or to spite) myself

We are not amused

Two gifts
a banana leaf and an unwanted cat door stop that needed a new home
sadly neither Suki or Sid are impressed so it will have to come to work with me
the banana leaf is drying out on the wall in the bedroom but I may try to do a leaf print with it
that means I will have to start reading my India Flint book and not just look at the pictures
just watching Tom Jones singing his new record live on Graham Norton
cats are scrapping over territory
me I'm calling it a day now
